My name is Stef.

Entrepreneur since the age of 20. Restaurateur for over ten years. Food truck owner by accident. App developer out of necessity.

The Story

It all started with a take-out pizza place at age 20. Then a PVC window company – which went bankrupt. Then a Japanese restaurant with my wife, who is from Laos, where we cooked for over ten years. In November 2019, we sold it. Canada was waiting for us.

And then Covid arrived. First lockdown. And immediately after, a medical diagnosis: Bilateral coxarthrosis. Hip replacement at 44 years old.

It was in this context that a friend, an entrepreneur named Benoît, arrived with an idea for a Thai restaurant. He hired my wife. And very quickly, a new idea was born: why not try the mobile version? He offered to let me handle the truck. My first reaction: «Street food? I don't know anything about it!»

And then almost immediately: it's the same job. A functioning kitchen, that's all. Except that instead of being anchored in the same place every day, I could move around. No longer feel stuck.

Two years later, two food trucks were doing well. Benoît's restaurant, however, had disappeared: the mobile business had proven to be much more profitable and flexible. Until a serious accident stopped him. We finished the year together, and the food truck chapter closed.

// The other passion

In parallel with all of that, there's computers. A passion that goes back to 1995 and my first Cyrix x86. At the time, it was already an obsession—understanding how it worked, tinkering, testing. Thirty years later, it's still the same curiosity that makes me code apps at midnight.

And when it comes to endurance... 10 years of World of Warcraft, 10 years of Destiny 2, and the four Diablos. I can handle the duration, the resets, and the patches that break everything. It builds character as an entrepreneur, somewhere.

It's this mix—terrain, cuisine, struggles, and tech passion—that gave birth to Flash Poster an app designed by someone who really needed to use it.
