Preparing your logo for Flash Poster
A few simple rules to ensure your logo displays perfectly on every poster.
💡 Why does it matter?
A sharp logo at any size
Flash Poster automatically resizes your logo. A good file stays readable, small or large.
Accurate colors
The right format ensures your colors display exactly as expected on the poster.
Transparent background
Without a white background, your logo blends cleanly on any poster color.
🎨 Which format should you use?
👁️ What is a transparent background?
A transparent background is simply a logo without a background — it sits directly on your poster, regardless of its color, leaving no trace.
💡 The checkerboard: no need to worry!
Did your graphic designer send you a file with a gray-and-white checkered background? That’s perfectly normal—it’s how software displays transparency. That checkered pattern will not appear on your poster. However, don’t ask for “a logo with a checkerboard pattern” — ask for “a PNG logo with a transparent background”.
See for yourself with a real-life example of a Flash Poster:
✓ Logo with transparent background
The logo blends seamlessly into the poster
✗ Logo with a white background
An unsightly white square appears around the logo
The file as you provide it
The same logo with a white background — best avoided
✅ What to do — and what to avoid
PNG logo with a transparent background, vibrant colors, and clear text even at small sizes
Blurry JPEG logo, including the background, with dull colors or too small
💾 Recommended size
Minimum
300 × 150 px — if smaller than this, the logo may appear blurry on the printed poster.
Recommended
800 × 400 px or larger — Flash Poster: Resize if necessary, but never enlarge.
File size
Ideally, keep it under 2 MB. If it’s larger than that, the import may take longer.
Tip: Don’t have your logo as a transparent PNG? Ask your graphic designer for the file—they’re sure to have it. Otherwise, the free tool remove.bg lets you remove the background in seconds, with no technical skills required.
🎯 In summary: the 3 golden rules
PNG (or SVG) format
These are the only formats that preserve the transparent background and the quality of the logo.
Transparent background
No white or colored background around the logo—just the logo itself on a transparent background.
High resolution
At least 300 pixels wide. For the best print quality, use 800 pixels or more.
